New LumiBook Shows Educators How to Create Standards-Based or Common Core-Aligned Assessments to Measure Student Mastery

We will be releasing a new LumiBook to help educators create standards-based or Common Core-aligned assessments to measure student learning available to all educators at the 2014 Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) conference. Authored by education expert Jay McTighe, it outlines how to create effective assessments to measure student mastery of state or Common Core standards, and is available to all educators at ASCD.

“We are very pleased to be taking this incredibly timely and rich LumiBook to ASCD, where we know it has the potential to help hundreds of educators enhance their assessments to measure student success with their state standards or the Common Core State Standards,” said Chet D. Linton, CEO and president of School Improvement Network. “If created and implemented effectively, standards-based or Common Core-aligned assessments can be valuable tools in helping educators ensure that each student masters the content and graduates from high school with the skillset they need to be successful in college or a career.”

Educators who visit the School Improvement Network booth #1101 at ASCD 2014 will receive a free version of Jay McTighe’s best-selling LumiBook, “Core Learning: Assessing What Matters Most,” that shows educators how to:

  • Turn standards-based or Common Core-aligned assessments into learning experiences
  • Get an accurate picture of how well state standards or Common Core implementation is going in a school or district
  • Create interventions to help spur improvement in standards implementation
